An autobiography of her life for the time when she was in the hospital and was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.  Keep in mind when you read this book that this is during the late 1960's.
 
The Quiet Room:  A Journey Out of theTorment of Madness  Lori Schiller, Amanda Bennett  ISBN:  0446671339  Non-Fiction/Auto-Biography/Biography  A wonderful book by an amazing woman who has Scizo-affective disorder.  It starts when she started hearing the "voices" and continues on.  She is quite an inspiration even if you don't have the same diagnosis.
 
Bloodletting: A Memoir of Secrets, Self-Harm, & Survival  Victoria Leatham  ISBN:  1572244577
Memoir  A pageturner that really pulls you in as she tells her story.
 
Borderlines Caroline Kraus  ISBN:  0767914287 Memoir  A dry one in the beginning, but does get a little more interesting.
 
An Unquiet Mind:  A Memoir of Moods and Madness  Kay Redfield Jamison  ISBN:  0-679-76330-9  Non-Fiction
An excellent book for inspiration.  She's a Professor of Psychiatry and has Bipolar.  She tells of her dealing with it.  It opens with a funny story to lighten the mood, but show the seriousness.

For one trying to understand self-injurious behavior this is a great book to read.

A very informative book for anyone who wants to learn more information on Borderline Personality Disorder.  It explains everything simply and even weaves a story throughout.
 
Skills Training Manual for Treating Borderline Personality Disorder  Marsha Linehan  ISBN:  0898620341  Non-Fiction
This is the book that every DBT group goes by.  DBT wouldn't exist without this.
 
Another informative book.  It's not geared specifically toward any of the diagnoses I listed, but is extremely helpful.

This is a great book if you are one that likes interactive books.  At the end of each chapter there are exercises and a story weaved through.  Very helpful for the angry person (as the title suggests).
